Albuquerque Luminaria Tour
Enjoy the magic of the Old Town Plaza’s annual Luminaria Tour on Christmas Eve with World Travel Management. When this signature New Mexican holiday tradition comes together it boasts a dazzling display throughout the Country Club neighborhood and the Old Town area in Albuquerque.
This age old tradition has its roots in the Spanish colonial period when the Spanish villagers living in what is now current day New Mexico, displayed the unique and simple way to make Christmas lanterns, and called them luminarias. These small lanterns are meant to symbolize and welcome Christ’s child into the world.
The tour with door to door chauffeured service will last approximately three hours. Private vehicle tours as well as large group tours are available.
